Lights. Camera. Action! Columbus is quickly becoming a film hub in the state. As a Georgia Camera Ready Community, Columbus can provide local, one-on-one assistance in every aspect of production, from location scouting and film permits, music production at Loft Recording Studio, to catering and lodging. Locals schools like Shaw High School, Rainey McCullars School of the Arts and Columbus State University are preparing the filmmakers of tomorrow and helping support our homegrown film festivals: Pop Up Video Film Festival, WayDown Film Festival and Wild & Scenic Film Festival.
The Springer Film Institute is passionate about helping our community tell its stories through the power of film. They encourage filmmakers, screen writers, actors, directors (and everyone in between) to contribute to a growing indigenous film culture by offering workshops in acting, directing, screenwriting, post-production, animation, motion graphics and more.
