Columbus is a wonderfully diverse community and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Our city leadership and its appointed LGBTQ liason make it a priority to continue building a vibrant LGBTQ community. The city has made significant strides to enhance and increase our MEI (Municipal Equality Index), and in 2019 the city’s score increased from the 30’s to a 61.
We celebrate Pride year-round at community events such as Gay Pride Block Parties, Diversity Saturdays, Drag Queen story hours, and Columbus Got Talent. Our annual gay pride festival always draws a crowd, lasting three days in late May-early June, featuring a parade, the crowning of Mr. and Miss Columbus Georgia Pride, entertainment, special guests, and a family picnic.
We are proud to be committed to our LGBTQ community.
